Audit Commission - Solihull Project Value: £783,000 |
Primary Goals: To provide an environmentally friendly building and to meet the changing business needs of the Audit Commission, a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. It is a public body responsible for ensuring that public money is used economically, efficiently and effectively.
In order to create spaces that met those needs, various criteria had to be met - most necessitating a wholesale review of traditional office provision.
Architect: BGP McConaghy Highlights: In response to economic business-drivers and pressure from burgeoning legislation, the improved office accommodation could not be reliant upon solutions that disregarded ecological issues and energy usage. Handed over ahead of time on 20th December 2002, this is a high quality, low energy, environmentally responsible fit out, drawing upon leading edge concepts, whilst responding to the latest business imperatives and human factor issues. The project has recently won the prestigious British Council of Offices award, for the fit out of workspace.
